FREE CHURCH TECH GUIDE
The Essential Church Tech Stack
No 50-tool shopping list. Just the essentials—and what you can safely ignore. Use this free guide to make a sensible plan for your church, whether your team is one volunteer or several.
Start with the work, then choose the tool
Before buying anything, ask: What is slowing ministry down? Who will use the tool each week? What can the church afford to maintain? A tool that answers none of these questions can wait.
The essentials
1. One reliable way to communicate
Pick the channel members actually check, often WhatsApp or email. Keep one current contact list and a clear person responsible for updates. Start with the free tools you already use.
2. A safe place for church records
Use a shared, backed-up system with named access, rather than one person's phone. A simple spreadsheet may be enough before a paid church management platform.
3. A basic security routine
Use strong passwords, two-step verification, regular backups and a handover process when volunteers change roles. These habits matter more than another app.
4. A Sunday service plan
Check sound, projection and internet before people arrive. Assign a backup person and keep a low-tech fallback for key moments.
5. A simple online front door
Make service times, location and a contact person easy to find. A clear, maintained page can serve better than an expensive site nobody updates.
What you can safely ignore for now
New software that duplicates what your team already uses. A livestream setup that takes more volunteers than you have. Automation before the underlying process is clear. A church app simply because another church has one.
Review these later when the ministry need is clear and someone can own the work.
